Each roll of cover guard® is supplied in an individual carton that is easy to store, transport and is light enough to be handled by 1 or 2 men.

The ease of transport and high coverage makes cover guard® extremely quick to fit, thus reducing labour time that is especially important for projects on tight schedules.

Laying Carpet cover guard®cover guard® does not require any specialist labour to cut and fit. This further reduces installation cost as the lower cost labour can be employed while more skilled labour can be allocated to other tasks.

Overall, cover guard® ensures that effective protection can be laid in the minimum amount of time with the least amount of effort and cost.

Rolls are reverse wound, individually wrapped in protective paper, boxed and identified by part number.

It is recommended that surfaces to be protected are clean of dust, debris, dirt, excess carpet pile, and liquids. Remove all packaging from material, and find leading edge of roll.

With 1 - 2 people holding the roll, 1 person carefully removes approximately 1 metre of material from the leading edge, evenly across full width to ensure easy release.

Fix this length onto the surface to be protected. The roll can now be rolled out on the floor by hand or foot, smoothing the material afterward (a good option would be to use a bristle brush or hands to smooth the material down).

Once the desired length has been applied, cut with a pair of scissors or sharp bladed knife.

When protecting larger open public areas the material should be applied in the same manner as above, but please note that the material should be overlapped by 75 - 100 mm to ensure total safe protection.

Any repairs or maintenance can be carried out by fixing a small piece of material over the top of any small rips or cuts.

For removal, simply lift away and pull back the material on itself to ensure easy clean release from protected surface. You will note that dirt, dust, spillages and debris are removed at the same time, helping to reduce final clean up time.

Clean All Surfaces

To ensure the highest performance from the material, cover guard® should be installed as soon as any finishes are completed, making sure that these finished surfaces are clear of dirt, dust, debris and liquids.

Laying Deckplate Diamond Upward

Unless otherwise instructed, cover guard® should be laid with the diamond pattern facing up.

Cut and Fit

Cutting Corriboard cover guard®Unroll the material and cut to fit the area to be protected. Allow a gap of at least 75 mm (or the width of fixing tape to be used), around the perimeter of the surface being protected, to enable securing with fixing tape. Pull cover guard® taut to ensure that the material lies flat and then tape all perimeters.

Taping Seams and Perimeters

When preparing to protect a large open area, apply the first run of tape at the perimeter - the tape should touch outer walls (thus priming the surface is not strictly necessary). Then position the cover guard® so that it is touching the edge of the first layer of tape at the perimeter. Next, apply the second layer of tape so that it is 50% on the first layer of tape and 50% on the cover guard® (half and half).

Overlap cover guard® seams by the width of the fixing tape in parallel lines. The diamond pattern will interlock, providing a trip free joint when taped securely. Smooth taped joints and perimeters by hand or by walking on them.

Should you wish to inspect the surface underneath cover guard®, remove the tapes seam and re-roll the material. When re-protecting, new fixing tape will be required. Small rips and cuts can be repaired either with fixing tape or by placing a small cover guard® "patch" and taping to the existing material.

When heavy soiling of cover guard® occurs through oil, grease or other products, the contaminated area should be replaced with fresh material as per maintenance instructions above.
